It's hard to weigh the value of being here over being there when two very different things motivate his reasoning. ]

That would mean he would not have to care who this 'Jyn' was, how she came across a kyber crystal, if it's hers, and whether this meant she was connected to the Force in ways that doomed her existence as much as it dooms Cal's.
